Ain't need no damned priest. He said it too, just differently.
The Van Gogh sky swirls behind a face looking upward toward a star that predates every institution built in its name — the Christ of direct experience, the one who said the kingdom is within you and meant it literally, not as a fundraising metaphor. The text written into the painting is the theology that got people burned: Jesus is in the heart. When I pray I gaze at the stars and remember these scars. Actions will be my fees. No priest required. No receipt for proof of deeds.
Maybe that's a bit Gnostic but it's a Christian doctrine — the line that lands because it's true and the institution knows it's true and built an entire bureaucratic architecture specifically to stand between the individual and that truth and collect a toll on the way through.
Guess it's a Roman Fair eYe C. Scribes of Author-ity. The wordplay is the indictment. The horse is dead — shh. The blind are deaf. Who understands parables — a hopeless romance between a teaching and the people it was meant for, separated by two thousand years of middlemen.
